In November 2022, at the invitation of the Museum of Modern Ceramics in Gifu, Japan, Chinese artist Ma Huiyuan’s Porcelain Exhibition was open. This book was designed for this exhibition.
The book is designed with an empty cover to accentuate the square ceramic tile effect made by molding the white, glossy and thick cardboard. The design is inspired by and echoed with the artist’s series of “Porcelain”. The square tiles also forms a grid system for the layout of the text and illustrations throughout the book.
