In a world first collaboration between a museum and football club, William Morris Gallery & Walthamstow FC produced by British sports manufacturer Admiral who originated the modern replica football kit almost 50 years ago.
The project, devised by the design agency, selected the pattern “Yare” designed by John Henry Dearle sometime after 1892, for home and away jerseys. Dearle was trained by William Morris who was much influenced by the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.
Proceeds have gone towards supporting the club establishing a new women's team and supporting the Gallery's community outreach.
