Approximately 1.3 million seniors in Ecuador face ageism in the workforce, with many compelled to retire or unable to secure new employment, despite possessing valuable experience. This issue has largely gone unaddressed in the country, prompting Banco del Pacífico to take action.
Senior Economy introduces a new economic model that assigns a market value to seniors' experience and expertise, based on data collected from the resumes that seniors uploaded into the bank’s website, so that later the bank could create a match between them and struggling businesses that needed their expertise.
